Zone Description

The Reserve covers a wide range of life zones in spite of its relatively small extension and includes an enormous biodiversity.
However, a more outstanding ecological characteristic is its function as a corridor between the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve and the Sumaco Napo-Galeras National Park. In this way, the three zones form one of the ten biodiversity "hot spots" existing in the world.

2 Days visiting the Highlights of Antisana Ecological Reserve & Hosteria Papallacta with thermal Baths in a private Car 4x4

Departing from Quito:

Day 1: In the morning drive in direction to Papallacta Thermal baths near Antisana Ecological Reserve at southeast of Otavalo. There we can enjoy the hot springs surrounded by nature and rest in an environment of relax, overnight in Hosteria Papallacta.

Day 2: Early in the Morning we will start our Expedition in the land of the Condors: the Antisana Ecological Reserve also observing the three zones that form one of the ten biodiversity "hot spots" existing in the world. in the afternoon return to Quito.

The Tour includes:

Lodging in the Typical Hosteria Papallacta with Thermal Baths in single or double accomodancy with Continental Breakfast included, Private car 4X4, Guide, Lunch & Dinner on own

CLIMBING OPTION:

Antisana (5.704 m) / 2 days

Though the walk is long and there are technical difficulties this summit is one on the hitlist of every "Andinist". One of the most demanding mountains in Ecuador.
