The tour is a challenge, but technically without too big difficulties.
Day 1:
We will leave Quito in the morning along the Panamericana Freeway south and we will pass by the avenue of the volcanes, way to Guaranda, later we will get to a secondary road but in good condition to the refuge Edward Whimper at 5.000meters where we will spend the nigth, box lunch in Ambato, dinner at the refuge.
Day 2:
After a quick breakfast, we will leave the refuge at 12:00 am. and continuing until we reach the top of the mountain. The climb will take about eigth/nine hours. To look at the country in a clear day from the highest mountain in Ecuador is a sight you cannot put in words it is necessary to see it! The descent will take from four to five hours to refuge, where we will rest and then take the transportation back to Quito, Breakfast in the refuge, lunch while climbing.

Cotopaxi (5.897 m) / 1 day / USD 30 per person
The tour starts at 08:00 am along the Panamericana Freeway south for about 60 Km from Quito. We will get the Control Caspi where the tourist pay the tax of the National Park USD.10,00. We will visit the museum, continue the trip to the base of volcano Cotopáxi, We'll visit the lagoon of Limpiopungo where you can observe ducks, wild horses and the mountains that border the Cotopaxi. We will continue ascending to the parking, then walking around 45 minutes we arrive to the refuge José Rivas that at 4.800 meters, Here we will offer you some coffee or tea (if you have to brig your lunch). Afterwards we will make a small descent from the rest area until we will get to the glacier where the tourist enjoy the magnificence of the volcano. Returning from the glacier, we descend from the rest area to the car and return to Quito.
Cotopaxi (5.897 m) / 2 days
The second highest and most popular of the summits and technically without great difficulties.
Every person in good condition can accomplish this tour. Cotopaxi is the highest active volcano
in the world. If you want to climb only one summit, then it should be this one.
